I love to read, I love books and I love having books I can keep and look at and hold I love BOOKS!! When I heard a story about kids that don't haven their own books because they don't have the money or they have been removed from their homes and our in foster care, or other reasons it made me sad. I want to make a small change in that!! I want kids to learn to read, to be able to have a book that is all their own and to learn how important literacy is!!
For my 4H project this year I am studying literacy and raising money plus donating some of my own books to two organizations to help get kids their own books. The HOPE center in Marysville Ohio and a center in Knoxville TN that watches kids while parents work in a low income area and many of these kids are in foster care.
The money raised from sales will go to purchase books. You can also donate new or gently used books!! Thank you for your help as we work to bring smiles and books to kids through Coffee, Tea, & Books!!!! |
